Historic Renovation Projects

We have great respect for historic buildings. In fact, some of the buildings we’ve restored and repurposed were originally constructed by Kraus-Anderson decades ago. In 1994, we converted the Minneapolis YMCA, which we built in 1917, into The LaSalle Apartments. Drawing on over a century of construction experience, we achieve the delicate balance between preserving a building’s historic integrity and employing modern building systems.

"The building was so well built originally that it allowed us a lot of freedom. This steel and cast-concrete building will last another 100 years." - Arnie Gregory, Co-owner, The LaSalle Apartments, Minneapolis, MN

"We were fortunate to have workers on the project who care so much about this building – kindred spirits to those who originally constructed this place." - Warren Wunderlich, Physical Plan Director, Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, MN
