Staying Ahead of the Grade With K-12 Construction

Minnesota Green Schools CoalitionKraus-Anderson has adopted our collaborative project delivery process to meet the unique needs of the K-12 education market. Our process supports transparency, giving schools a complete understanding of costs throughout design and construction.

We think lean. As budgets shrink and school systems consolidate resources, districts and facilities managers are looking for more ways to manage costs.

Kraus-Anderson’s sustainable building practices support creating a healthy and positive learning environment for students and faculty. Thinking green also means utilizing existing resources effectively and incorporating energy efficiency to reduce operating costs. Kraus-Anderson led the charge in green schools, constructing Minnesota’s first LEED-certified project in 2004 with Westwood Elementary.

Kraus-Anderson has completed more than 200 K-12 education projects totaling $700 million in the past five years. Building Design + Construction ranks Kraus-Anderson #10 in the nation in construction of K-12 facilities. Our extensive K-12 portfolio ranges from major new campuses to remodeling for both public and private institutions.

“Kraus-Anderson has provided sound value engineering suggestions and recommendations that have assisted us in accomplishing more than anticipated with the funding at hand.” - John Doth, Director of Facilities, South Washington County Schools
