Walk Through Your Building Before We Break Ground

Today’s construction projects depend on a high level of collaboration between the design team, owner and project construction team. Having the right information at the right time is critical to resolving design and coordination issues before they become costly and unnecessary changes in construction.

Virtual Design & Construction (VDC)/Building Information Modeling (BIM) is about working smarter to design and construct the buildings we work in. Kraus-Anderson uses 3D VDC/BIM information to simulate the real-world building process. With VDC/BIM, the team is able to make better decisions regarding the design, systems and construction flow of a project. This efficient approach saves you time and money and eliminates waste and rework in the building process.

VDC/BIM uses a virtual model for visualizations, logistics planning, constructability analysis, clash detection and more. These visualizations allow the project team to communicate design intent in 3D, rather than a flat 2D plan. Not only can real-time walkthroughs and simulations realistically convey the look and feel of the new facility, but they can also resolve coordination issues with complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural systems. Our subcontracting partners provide added strategic value in the form of systems analysis and constructability reviews, coupled with current market pricing, fabrication and field level installation information.
