Kraus-Anderson completes remodeling of 60,000-square-foot Cabela’s in East Grand Forks

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Kraus-Anderson Construction Company (KA), one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest commercial general contractors and construction managers, has completed the remodeling of the 60,000-square-foot Cabela’s in East Grand Forks, Minn.

KA has built many of Cabela's stores since 1997 and constructed the East Grand Forks store, which opened in 1999.

The project, which adds 10,000 square feet of retail space, includes new millwork, painting, ceilings, carpet, ceramic tile, and mechanical and electrical upgrades. New offices were also added.

“The construction was completed in 7 weeks,” said Jake Boerboon, project manager for Kraus-Anderson. “All work was performed at night so the store remained opened and fully merchandised.”

In addition to offering quality outdoor merchandise, the showroom is an educational and entertainment attraction, featuring a décor of museum-quality animal displays, huge aquariums and trophy animals interacting in realistic re-creations of their natural habitats. In addition to the East Grand Forks location, Cabela’s operates Minnesota stores in Rogers and Owatonna.
