Kraus-Anderson completes mechanical upgrades at Gundersen Tri-County Memorial Hospital
Crews performed work without disruption
while hospital remained fully occupied
WHITEHALL, Wis. (April 2017) – The Madison office of Kraus-Anderson Construction (KA), one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest commercial general contractors and construction managers, has completed major mechanical upgrades at Gundersen Tri-County Memorial Hospital and Clinics in Whitehall, Wis., located on Highway 53 between Eau Claire and La Crosse.
KA’s long-standing relationship with Gundersen includes the construction of the 400,000-square-foot hospital for Gundersen Lutheran Health System in La Crosse.
Designed by Groth Design Group, the upgrades primarily replaced the existing HVAC chiller unit and updated the mechanical room of the three-story regional hospital. KA installed new piping, pumps and other mechanical replacements, and retrofitted the new units into the existing spaces. The engineering firm was MEP Associates, LLC.
Kraus-Anderson, ranked 12th among the top general contractors in the U.S. by Modern Healthcare Magazine, has deep experience working in sensitive environments such as hospitals and senior living facilities. KA crews strategically plan to perform their work without disruption while buildings remain fully occupied. At Gundersen Tri-County Memorial Hospital and Clinics, crews worked under an accelerated schedule to complete the project before warmer weather calls for air conditioning.
