Kraus-Anderson begins new $38 million education center in Roseville, Minn.
ROSEVILLE, Minn. (May 2020) – Kraus-Anderson (KA) has begun construction for Roseville Area School on the new $38 million Fairview Education Center located at 1910 County Road B West in Roseville, Minn.
Designed by Lawal Scott Erickson Architects, the 108,000-square-foot education center features a new pool and basketball court, multiple classrooms, kitchen with two dining rooms, locker rooms and offices. A playground will be located on the west side of the building with a bus drop-off at the front of the building.
The current education center has two buildings that will be demolished after the new two-story structural steel building is built. The project has an architectural precast exterior façade with metal panels and a steel structure with composite structural concrete floors.
When the existing buildings are demolished a new parking lot will be put in its place.
The project is expected to be completed in late summer of 2021.
Fairview Education Center is one of dozens of major K-12 construction projects Kraus-Anderson will work on this year during its “Summer Slam,” a critical, concentrated time during the summer months when school is not in session and when crews can perform work that ranges from new school construction to upgrades to deferred maintenance projects.
KA continues to lead the field of regional education construction projects and is currently ranked 8th in the nation in the construction of K-12 facilities by Building Design and Construction magazine. Over the past five years, KA has completed over $1 billion in K-12 projects. KA’s comprehensive school construction services include facility analysis and budget approaches, leading to informed and successful referendum initiatives.
