Kraus-Anderson completes Alexander Schools expansion
ALEXANDER, N.D. (September 2016) – Kraus-Anderson Construction Company (KA), one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest commercial general contractors and construction managers, has completed an expansion project for Alexander Public Schools in North Dakota. The $15 million, 50,000-square-foot project includes three additions and an extensive remodeling of the existing K-12 school.
Designed by EAPC Architects Engineers, construction was completed in time for the opening of the 2016 school year.
The project adds 13 more classrooms, a second gym, a new kitchen and cafeteria area, and a fitness center that will also be open to the community. The project also includes renovating the administration suite, teacher’s lounge, library and science room/lab.
KA continues to lead the field of regional education construction projects and is currently ranked 6th in the nation in the construction of K-12 facilities by Building Design and Construction magazine. The company also remains the top construction manager of education facilities in the region, having completed K-12 projects totaling over $1 billion in the past five years. In addition, KA practices Open Book Transparency, maximizing opportunities for local subcontractor participation.
