Kraus-Anderson completes construction at Woodbury Middle School
WOODBURY, Minn. (September 2018) – Kraus-Anderson Construction Company (KA), one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest commercial general contractors and construction managers, has completed construction at Woodbury Middle School, located at 1425 School Drive in Woodbury, Minn.
Improvements were designed to accommodate an increase in student capacity from 1,080 to 1,300 for the 2018-19 school year.
Designed by Architects Rego + Youngquist, the $10.3 million 26,000-square-foot expansion and renovation features a new 3,000-square-foot kitchen and 1,800-square-foot interior remodel.
The two-story expansion will add 12 middle school classrooms, bathrooms and collaborative learning spaces. Renovations were also made to group learning spaces, media center and the orchestra space. New technology and furniture will be utilized in the renovated and added spaces at the school.
KA continues to lead the field of regional education construction projects and is currently ranked 6th in the nation in the construction of K-12 facilities by Building Design and Construction magazine. The company also remains the top construction manager of education facilities in the region, having completed K-12 projects totaling over $1 billion in the past five years.
