Kraus-Anderson completes new auditorium and band room at Columbia Heights High School
COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, Minn. (February 2020) – Kraus-Anderson has completed a $4.5 million construction project that includes a remodel and update of the performing arts spaces and band room addition at Columbia Heights High School.
The project was part of a bond referendum to modernize educational spaces at the high school, and to retain and expand its performing and instrumental arts programming to keep the District’s “heart in the arts.”
Designed by MLA Architects, the 14,200-square-foot project features the remodeling of a 5,800-square-foot auditorium with new seating, flooring, dressing rooms, and stage lighting and sound. The new construction also includes a 8,400-square-foot band room addition with a new sound control room, practice rooms, acoustic wall panels and large windows for natural light.
KA continues to lead the field of regional education construction projects and is currently ranked 8th in the nation in the construction of K-12 facilities by Building Design and Construction magazine. Over the past five years, KA has completed over $1 billion in K-12 projects. KA’s comprehensive school construction services include facility analysis and budget approaches, leading to informed and successful referendum initiatives.
