Kraus-Anderson completes new sports dome at Minnesota State Mankato
MANKATO, Minn. (December 2019) – Kraus-Anderson has completed construction on a new 110,000-square-foot sports dome at Minnesota State University, Mankato. The new facility will serve Minnesota State Mankato students and athletic teams, as well as youth and adult sports from the local and regional area.
Designed by ISG Architects, the $5.5 million temperature-controlled, inflatable sports dome – the size of 1 ½ soccer fields — will be divided into three fields, each 70 x 44 yards, for use by multiple groups simultaneously.
The dome will be used for a variety of sports, including soccer, lacrosse, rugby, cricket, ultimate Frisbee, softball, baseball, football and more. The project also includes an adjacent building that will provide a lobby, gathering space and restrooms.
