Jay Vander Leest is the winner of the Kraus-Anderson Construction Company Mission/Vision Award for June 2015.
Jay is director of safety and works out of the Minneapolis office. He was nominated by Rachael Oelke, project manager from the Minneapolis office. Her nomination reads:
“I would like to nominate Jay Vander Leest, corporate safety director, for the Mission Vision Award. Jay is dedicated and committed to ensuring a safe work environment for all Kraus-Anderson employees. Recently, we had a project at Regions Hospital that required modification of an existing lead lined door and hardware. After an unsuccessful attempt to find a qualified vendor to perform the work, Jay worked quickly with our on site team, KA leadership, insurance and legal to create lead work guidelines and a training program for field employees This program allowed KA to continue to serve our client’s needs and keep carpenters and patients safe while completing this work. Jay showed integrity, commitment, teamwork and that he valued people. Thank you, Jay for your dedication to safety and innovative thinking.”
