Year after year, healthcare, schools and multifamily housing remain three of the most active market sectors Kraus-Anderson serves. Each of those sectors was well represented as a “Top Projects” award winner by The Daily Reporter, one of Wisconsin’s leading construction news sources. “Top Projects” recognizes outstanding achievements by Wisconsin builders, owners, engineers, architects and others in the construction industry.
Landmark By The River – La Crosse
KA completed Landmark By The River in downtown La Crosse in September 2019. The historic renovation transformed a century-old manufacturing facility into a new, live-work-play development with luxury rental apartments, and leasing opportunities for retailers, restaurants, medical and office tenants.
Designed by Dimension IV Madison Design Group and owned by La Crosse-based JJAWC, LLC., the project converted the former La Crosse Plow Company, listed on the National Parks Service’s National Register of Historic Places, into a new, mixed-use development within walking distance of shopping and restaurants in the core of downtown La Crosse. Phase one included rehabilitation to the existing buildings, followed by the build-out of 64 luxurious, spacious and sunny residential units in phase two.
Gundersen Health Clinic – Tomah
KA completed a new $22 million medical office building for Gundersen Healthcare in Tomah in October 2019. The two-story, 77,000-square-foot facility combines behavioral health, vision, family medicine, renal dialysis and a cancer center, allowing patients to receive services at one location. Previously, Gundersen’s Behavioral Health Clinic and renal dialysis were off campus at separate sites.
The new clinic’s services include dental, family medicine, general surgery, imaging, lab, OB/GYN, oncology, orthopedics, podiatry, vision and a Gundersen pharmacy inside the clinic with drive-thru service. The new campus also features walking trails and gardens as part of Gunderson’s invitation to the whole community to shift perspective towards well-being and healing instead of sickness.
