The University of Minnesota’s Office for Business & Community Economic Development (BCED) has presented Kraus-Anderson Construction Company with its 2013 Stellar Award for General Contractor of the Year. The award was presented Oct. 22, 2013.
D. Craig Taylor, executive director of the U of M’s BCED says the prestigious award honors KA for its commitment to the Board of Regents’ policy on small, targeted businesses and urban community economic development.
The award reflects KA’s work for the U of M’s BCED, including current work on the Twin Cities campus at Gore Annex at Amundson Hall. Other current KA projects for the University include Itasca Biological Station and Laboratory in Park Rapids, Minn; and Glensheen Manor Estate; Voss Kovach Hall and a new campus utility building in Duluth, Minn.
In addition, the Stellar Award recognizes KA’s outstanding commitment to women and minority-owned businesses, including the company’s long-term mentoring relationship with Reiling Construction, AWC (Association of Women Contractors) and numerous community-wide involvements.
“KA has gone above and beyond the typical contractor relationship, generously providing its time and expertise, including training, education and HR guidance,” said Brigid O’Malley, president of Reiling Construction.
We are honored for this recognition.
