Kraus-Anderson has done multiple projects for Regions Hospital, working on its campus since 2007.
Regions Birthing Center
Kraus-Anderson completed construction of the new 160,000-square-foot birth center on the Regions campus, which opened Spring 2020. The four-story building includes water birth suites, larger delivery and post-partum rooms, dedicated spaces for families and visitors, an expanded neonatal intensive care unit for infants as young as 28 weeks, and “couplet care,” which allows mothers and babies to stay together if they need more care.
Regions Hospital Director of Nursing Rochelle Johnson, Kraus-Anderson Project Manager Rachael Oelke, and Reiling Construction President Brigid O’Malley discuss the innovative new Regions Hospital Birth Center on KA’s Build Me Up podcast.
Regions Mental Health Building
The 8-story, 115,000 s.f. Regions Mental Health Building provides 100 private patient rooms and baths in a secure, serene environment serving a range of inpatient and outpatient mental health services as well as chemical dependency treatment and services for acute psychiatric symptoms. Amenities include comfort rooms, exercise/activity room, lounge areas, and abundant natural light. KA’s preconstruction planning services helped the hospital build this new facility within its tight urban campus without disruption to existing services.
KA earned Project of the Year by the Metropolitan Economic Development Association (MEDA) and Exceptional New Building Award by the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) for their work on the Regions campus.
Kraus-Anderson also completed the Regions Hospital Staff Parking Ramp.
