Bemidji State University celebrates the opening of Laurel House and Memorial Hall Friday, Oct. 2
BEMIDJI, Minn. (September 2015) – Bemidji State University (BSU) will hold open houses Friday, October 2, 2015 to celebrate the opening of two projects, both built by Kraus-Anderson Construction.
Memorial Hall – 9:00 a.m. – dedication ceremony and tours
Kraus-Anderson completed the $12 million addition and renovation to Memorial Hall, the new home of BSU’s business and accounting departments. The newly renovated Memorial Hall gives the business program the visibility and corporate image it needs to continue its growth.
Laurel House – 1:00 p.m. – ribbon cutting and open house
The new two-story Laurel Honors House has 1,200 square feet of living space on each level, creating a shared space for up to four BSU students. Kraus-Anderson is a project partner of the Laurel House. The company made a gift to BSU designated for project management services related to the construction of the Laurel House.
KA has a long history of construction projects for the university, including a 22,000-square-foot addition and 10,000-square-foot renovation to Sattgast Science Building in 2009; and a 12,250-square-foot classroom and a lab addition to NWTC Center for Allied Health in 2006. The 193,000-square-foot Sanford Center, a municipal venue completed in 2011, serves as home to the BSU hockey team.
