Ebenezer Management Services to break ground on Arbors at Ridges senior housing development
BURNSVILLE, Minn. (August 2012) – Minneapolis-based senior housing provider Ebenezer Management Services (EMS) will break ground on Arbors at Ridges, a new $12 million assisted living community in Burnsville, Minn. The project is another in a long-term partnership between Kraus-Anderson and EMS, which will manage the community. The groundbreaking is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the site (13897 Community Drive across from Fairview Ridges Hospital).
Built by Kraus-Anderson Construction and designed by Bloomington-based Sperides Reiners Architects, Inc., the development will be an addition to the existing Arbors at Ridges, an assisted living community that currently offers 44 senior apartments. The new addition, scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2013, will allow Arbors at Ridges to expand its memory care services to provide more extensive offerings for residents.
Set on a five-acre site, the community offers transitional and long-term care in an enhanced setting. The three-story development will feature 63 assisted living units, including a guest apartment and six Care Suites expressly designed for post-operative and therapy residents. Arbors at Ridges (www.fairviewebenezer.org/Ridges/) will provide a complete continuum of care as well as a full range of additional services. Fairview Health Services and nearby Fairview Ridges Hospital will also partner with EMS to offer health and wellness opportunities for Arbors at Ridges residents.
“We are very excited to begin our new addition to the Arbors at Ridges campus,” said Susan Farr, vice president of business development for Ebenezer Management Services. “The development’s new services will only enhance what is already a nationally recognized senior campus. We can’t wait to see this all come together.”
Highlights of the new community will include patios, gardens, four-season porch and walking paths, which will fit into the pedestrian connection from Nicollet Avenue to Portland Avenue. The campus will also feature a movie theater, library, beauty/barber shop, physical therapy area, clubroom, dining rooms, chapel, coffee shop, gift shop and lounges.
Another benefit at the new Arbors at Ridges is its unique intergenerational day care. “The day care’s many interactive activities involving children and seniors provide an added dimension of quality living for everyone,” said Farr.
To help residents improve their strength, balance, sleep and mood, Arbors at Ridges provides a personal trainer from Live2BHealthy, whose certified professional fitness instructors establish goals with residents and monitor their progress. Live2BHealthy is combined with Ebenezer’s Life Long Learning program, which helps keep the mind, body and spirit engaged—at any age.
The Arbors at Ridges project combines the expertise of two of the senior housing industry’s most experienced providers: Ebenezer Management Services and Kraus-Anderson. Since 1917, Ebenezer has been an innovator in providing residential and health care environments for seniors. As part of Fairview Health Services, Ebenezer and Ebenezer Management Services offer a full range of senior living and care options for more than 60 operating entities in the Twin Cities metro and outstate Minnesota. EMS’s long list of industry innovations implemented in previous developments include sensor technology and geothermal energy.
