Kraus-Anderson receives Employer of Excellence award from Opportunity Partners
Construction company honored for its work with people with disabilities
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (February 2013) – Opportunity Partners, a Twin Cities non-profit disability organization, will present its Employer of Excellence award to Kraus-Anderson at a luncheon ceremony on February 27, 2013.
Opportunity Partners is a nonprofit organization serving 1,700 people with disabilities annually through employment, training and residential programs that build independence and shape a stronger community. The “Julie Olson Topp Employer of Excellence Award” recognizes outstanding leadership in working with people with disabilities.
George J. Klauser, president and CEO of Opportunity Partners said Kraus-Anderson will be honored for its ongoing employment of Opportunity Partners’ participants and working with these individuals so they can achieve success in the workplace.
For more than a decade, the company has partnered with Opportunity Partners to hire individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as part of Kraus-Anderson’s diversity and inclusion program.
“Opportunity Partners has been an invaluable resource and has helped Kraus-Anderson to positively impact our culture by hiring people with disabilities,” said Diane Duguay, Kraus-Anderson’s director of employee relations & diversity. “Area employees will be well served to work with Opportunity Partners to broaden their workforce.”
