Kraus-Anderson to open new regional office in Bismarck, N.D.
BISMARCK, N.D. (July 2014) – To meet the demands of increased regional development and the energy boom from the Bakken oil fields in western North Dakota, Kraus-Anderson Construction Company (KA) today announced that it will open an office in Bismarck, N.D. The new office will be located at 1003 East Interstate Ave. in Bismarck.
Industry veteran Ross Wilmes has been hired as senior project manager in the Bismarck office, working with Dave Lenss, KA’s operations manager for the State of North Dakota. The company also has an office in Minot.
Kraus-Anderson has a 40-year history of construction management in North Dakota. In the last five years, the company has managed more than $80 million dollars of construction in the state, and currently is providing more than $150 million of construction services to clients in various building sectors, including public schools, higher education, municipal, industrial and retail.
KA’s Minot office opened in 2011 to pursue significant opportunities in public sector infrastructure, investing in community, schools, fire stations, municipal facilities; as well as in the company’s primary activity sectors of healthcare, housing and education. Some of KA’s Minot projects have included those for Minot State University and Winfield Solutions. During the flood recovery efforts in 2011, the company also served as construction manager for the Minot Public Schools, including major construction on six schools.
KA is currently working on the 160,000-square-foot Watford City High School and 254,000-square-foot Watford City Events Center, Watford City, N.D., in addition to other education and retail projects in the state.
In addition, Kraus-Anderson Capital’s equipment lease financing operates an office in Williston, which has deepened KA’s understanding of and relationships in the market.

Prior to joining KA, Wilmes served as project manager for North Dakota-based Comstock Construction, Inc., where he managed North Dakota construction projects including, Prairie Rose Elementary School in Dickinson, NDSU Living Learning West in Fargo and Trinity Health and Williston State College’s Frontier Hall in Williston.
