Brandon Larkin, project superintendent, from the Twin Cities office, won the June 2024 Core Values Award. Luke Daley submitted the nomination. It reads:
Brandon Larkin’s character exemplifies Kraus-Anderson’s core values of integrity, teamwork, commitment and valuing people. His professional, thorough and thoughtful commitment have made a big difference in my life and that of my family through challenging times.
A True Friend on the Home Front
During my recent 13-month deployment in the Army National Guard, Brandon’s support went well above and beyond standard. Recognizing the challenges my family would be facing in my absence, he stepped into the role of handyman and was on standby to help my wife and young daughter with any home issues that came up. Among his good deeds during that time, he:

- Helped remove our old dishwasher and installed a new one;
- Helped reinstall our egress window cover when it blew off in a windstorm/blizzard;
- That same storm event blew a fair amount of the shake vinyl siding off the front of our house on the second level above the garage. He helped find all the pieces, repaired the damaged pieces, and reinstalled them.
Knowing that my family was in good hands for these types of household repair and maintenance issues allowed me to stay focused on my military duties and was a huge emotional support for my wife and me.
A Handyman, a Friend, and a Career Mentor
In addition, Brandon has been a great mentor for my professional growth as well. We worked together on the Nodak Insurance Football Performance Complex. As the superintendent for this large and complex project, he took extra time and care to ensure my understanding of the issues of the job and developed a vision of construction management like a grandmaster plays chess. On a personal level, he’s also been a great sounding board for me in going through life events, including the birth of a child, parenting, and the loss of a parent.
Brandon’s professionalism, mentorship and teamwork is inspiring, motivating, and deeply appreciated.”
