Kraus-Anderson begins new fire station in Victoria, Minn.
July 9, 2025
Kraus-Anderson has begun construction on a new $20.4 million fire station for the City of Victoria located at 8250 Kochia Lane in Victoria, Minn.
Designed by CNH Architects, the state-of-the-art fire facility will improve firefighter health and safety and will support staffing changes necessary to meet Victoria’s increased demand for service without compromising service levels. The new fire station will allow firefighters to sleep inside the building and respond directly to calls for service versus responding from home or work, which will reduce overall response times across the community.
The two-story, 40,230-square-foot building features six apparatus bays, a training tower, mezzanine, decontamination areas, living quarters, lobby and offices. In addition, a large classroom will be included that will also function as the city’s emergency operation center.
“This new firehouse will help us respond to emergencies faster, protect the health and safety of our firefighters, and support a better staffing model,” said Debra McMillan, Mayor of the City of Victoria. “It will also serve as a place where firefighters can live, train and rest, because we know that taking care of those who take care of us is essential.”
The project is expected to be completed in June of 2026.
