Kraus-Anderson begins construction for Stillwater Area Schools

District improvements are part of a $175 million bond referendum
LAKE ELMO, Minn. (April 2025) – Kraus-Anderson (KA) has begun construction on four schools for Stillwater Area Schools. In November 2023, KA assisted the district to help pass a $175 million referendum to replace Lake Elmo and Andersen elementary schools, expand Oak-Land Middle School, renovate Stillwater Area High School, and improve safety and security district wide.
Lake Elmo Elementary – 10928 10th Street North, Lake Elmo
The new 150,000-square-foot school features 53 flexible classrooms, modern learning and collaboration environments, breakout areas, and specialist spaces for music, media, art and special education. Highlights include a two-story learning commons with an adjacent media center, a large cafeteria with ample natural light and a two–station gym. Outside, the project features two kickball fields, playground areas, and parking lots with improved traffic flow. A full site development also includes a large green space and new utilities.
Bayport Elementary – 1003 Fifth Avenue North, Bayport
Located adjacent to Barker’s Alps Park, the new 98,000-square-foot school features multiple classroom pods, cafeteria, learning commons, gym and a storm shelter. The building will also include interior partitions, kitchen equipment and gym equipment.
Oak-Land Middle School – 820 Manning Avenue North, Lake Elmo
The 64,699-square-foot project will consist of three additions, featuring a new gym and classroom spaces. The renovations will convert the existing gym into a media center and renovate the existing media center into administration offices. Construction will also include interior partitions, flooring, ceilingsand gym equipment as well as maintenance improvements and exterior upgrades.
Stillwater Area High School – 5701 Stillwater Blvd North, Oak Park Heights
The 10,910-square-foot project features an office addition and various renovations, including a patient lift, gym equipment, interior partitions, flooring, ceilings and roofing as well as maintenance improvements.
The projects are designed by Wold Architects and Engineers. Construction is expected to be completed in August 2025.
