Project relocates the program from downtown to the main Duluth campus

Kraus-Anderson (KA) has begun an addition and renovation project that relocates Lake Superior College’s (LSC) Manufacturing program from downtown Duluth to the college’s main campus.  Located at 2101 Trinity Road, LSC’s 97-acre main campus overlooks Lake Superior and St. Louis River bay.

Designed by Architecture Advantage, the 29,000-square-foot project includes a 9,000-square-foot addition and a 20,000-square-foot renovation that will house programs to help students gain career-ready skills in the manufacturing industry.

LSC’s Integrated Manufacturing program features classes in welding, machining, and computer-aided design (CAD).

The $10 million addition and renovation project is expected to be completed in October of 2024.

KA continues to lead the field of regional education construction projects.  The company is currently ranked as the sixth top sports and recreation contractor in the Midwest by Engineering News-Record and 20th in the nation in the construction of K-12 facilities by Building Design and Construction magazine.  Over the past five years, KA has completed over $1 billion in K-12 projects. KA’s comprehensive school construction services include facility analysis and budget approaches, leading to informed and successful referendum initiatives.
