Kraus-Anderson completes Catherine Cater Residence Hall at NDSU
FARGO, N.D. (May 2019) – Kraus-Anderson Construction Company (KA) has completed construction on Catherine Cater Hall at North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo, N.D. Located at 1650 15th Avenue North, the 455-bed, $39.5 million building creates additional housing, allowing NDSU to better accommodate sophomore students.
Designed by Fargo-based Zerr Berg Architects and KSQ Design, the first floor of the new six-story, 150,108-square-foot residence incorporates the hall’s building services, and community spaces — such as vending, laundry, hall director office, community room, media room, game room and community kitchen. The floor will have a double-sided fireplace along with three separate apartments.
Floors two through six each will be separated into two wings that will accommodate all of the student resident rooms and commons spaces.
Each floor will house two 45-student communities, composed of 2-bedroom units, double occupancy units with a shared bathroom and a separate RA suite. Each floor will share a central floor lounge, community study rooms, huddle spaces and floor support spaces.
A tunnel will connect the building to the West Dining Center, allowing students access to dining services without having to go outdoors.
Catherine Cater Hall will open to its residence in the fall of 2019.
