May 15, 2024
Kraus-Anderson (KA) has completed construction on North Loop Green, a mixed-use development located next to Target Field in downtown Minneapolis.
Developed by Hines and designed by ESG Architecture & Design, the one-million-gross square-foot development consists of a 34-story, 449-unit residential tower; 14-story, 365,000-square-foot office building; and a 471-stall, 225,439-square-foot parking garage with EV car-charging stations. The project, which began construction in November of 2021, is pursuing a LEED Silver designation.
The 442,787-square-foot residential tower features a one-acre park known as The Green, along with Sky Lounge views overlooking the Minneapolis skyline, Target Field and the Mississippi River. Amenities include outdoor terraces with spectacular skyline views, a state-of-the-art fitness center and health club, pool and sauna, golf and gaming simulator, work-from-home lounges, dog lounge with washing stations and dog run, and a one-acre park that will be activated year-round known as The Green.
The office tower is designed to provide an inspiring working atmosphere, prioritizing wellness programs and employee engagement, and providing unique amenities and gathering spaces. Office features include Wired Score connectivity, exclusive terraces on every floor and a rooftop terrace with unobstructed views of the downtown skyline.
Situated at the gateway to the vibrant North Loop neighborhood, North Loop Green’s food and retail offerings include a Hope Breakfast Bar and a new Italian concept called Salt & Flour (run by Chef Brian Ingram’s Purpose Restaurants), as well as a café called the Bassett Hound and food trucks on The Green.
KA’s role as Construction Manager at Risk navigates large and complex endeavors and adaptability to challenges. The company participated in an extensive 12-month preconstruction period, working with the design team and the City of Minneapolis on permitting, constructability and sustainability planning.
In addition, KA’s Special Projects team is in the process of completing buildouts for several North Loop Green office tenants. ESG Architect’s new HQ offices consisting of approximately 28,300 square feet features new open and private offices, collaboration areas, conference rooms, break area and a materials library. Bassett Hound’s 1,400-square-foot, lower-floor remodel includes a new taproom, food service and access to The Green with outdoor seating.
