BEMIDJI, Minn. (January 2019) – The Bemidji office of Kraus-Anderson (KA) has begun a renovation project at Ely-Bloomenson Community Hospital (EBCH) that includes remodeling the existing CT scan room and support offices.

The newly remodeled space will be home to EBCH’s state-of-the-art Siemens SOMATOM go.TOP 128 slice CT scanner. The new scanner expands patient-centric mobile workflow – which is controlled via tablet and remote – into advanced clinical fields and applications, including cardiology, CT-guided intervention and dual-energy spectral imaging.

Located at 328 W. Conan St. in Ely, Minn., EBCH is the area’s largest healthcare center serving Ely and surrounding communities bordering the vast acreage of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW).

Designed by ARI Architects, construction of the $319,000 project is expected to be completed in mid-February 2019.

Kraus-Anderson Construction has a proud history with the hospital. In 2002, KA completed a $6.5 million remodel of the hospital and nursing home, including a 35,835-square-foot expansion of new clinic space. In 2009, KA completed an $8.9 million, 44,861-square-foot renovation of the hospital, including new physical and occupational therapy areas, administration offices, ambulance garage and public corridor links.
