“Mall of the Future”

Located in a prime retail corridor of the east Twin Cities metro, this 100-acre, multiphase mixed-use redevelopment master plan includes live-work-play amenities including an office park, retail, housing, hospitality and healthcare. Site improvements include planting of 1,700 trees, a surface lot tree trench water management system, hiking and biking trails and a scenic pond. Kraus-Anderson Development partnered with Elion Real Estate Investments, LLC to develop the site.

Award-winning CityPlace draws its acclaim as “The Mall of The Future.” Continuing the successful emergence of the 100-acre CityPlace mixed-use development in Woodbury, Retail Phase II delivers a long-promised key tenant, Whole Foods, along with other experiential and service retail that are proving highly resilient to competition from online shopping. Whole Foods’ Taproom, ice cream bar, fire pit patio and other upscale amenities make it a gathering place for the community; while other tenants from Nordstrom Rack to banks and service providers coax shoppers to the environment, which is pleasingly configured with sidewalks, lighting and connecting paths to appeal to pedestrians as well as cars. Thoughtful design elements including natural stone, sculptural metals and high-end glass contribute to the distinctive, upscale ambience of this premier retail destination. Both a means to an end and an end unto itself, Retail Phase II further positions CityPlace as a community destination, and an appealing location for further office development.
