The sports dome facility will serve Minnesota State Mankato students and athletic teams, as well as youth and adult sports from the local and regional area. The $5.5 million temperature-controlled, inflatable sports dome – the size of 1 ½ soccer fields — will be divided into three fields, each 70 x 44 yards, for use by multiple groups simultaneously.
The dome will be used for a variety of sports, including soccer, lacrosse, rugby, cricket, ultimate Frisbee, softball, baseball, football and more. The project also includes an adjacent building that will provide a lobby, gathering space and restrooms.
