With a distinguished track record spanning decades, Al has played a vital role in driving the growth and key milestones of Kraus-Anderson. As Chief Operating Officer of KA Companies, he provides enterprise-wide operational leadership across all entities, with focused strategic oversight of Kraus-Anderson Construction Company (KACC), consistently ranked among the top 50 Midwest Construction Management-at-Risk firms by Engineering News-Record. Al joined Kraus-Anderson in 1980 as a project manager and has been instrumental in the expansion of the company’s construction operations. He served as President of KACC for more than 19 years, helping shape the organization into the industry leader it is today. He is a Life Governor and board member of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and serves on the board of the Twin Cities chapter of the ACE Mentor Program. He is also a member of the Construction Industry Round Table (CIRT) and NAIOP, and has presented at national industry conferences. In addition, Al has contributed his expertise through service on the State of Minnesota Building Code Advisory Board, the Construction Specifications Institute, the Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotary Club, and the Board of CornerHouse, a nonprofit child advocacy organization. He is a past chair of the Minnesota State University, Mankato Construction Management Advisory Board. Al holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and maintains general contractor licenses in Florida, Mississippi, and New Mexico.
