July 5, 2024
Kraus-Anderson (KA) has begun an extensive renovation for St. Paul Public Schools at Hidden River Middle School, located at 1700 Summit Ave., and Wilson School, located at 631 Albert St. N., both in St. Paul. The Wilson School will serve as a temporary location for the school community while Hidden River is remodeled. The combined construction cost of both projects is $40.2 million.
Designed by DLR Group, the 98,491-square-foot project will feature a full interior remodel for Hidden River, including new mechanical and electrical systems. A 3,600-square-foot addition will create a new main entrance at the northeast corner of the building, and a 7,200-square-foot addition will expand the kitchen, loading dock, and mechanical room. Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2025.
Interior renovations for the temporary location at the Wilson School are expected to be completed in time for the opening of school in September 2024.
KA also announced this month that it has begun a remodel and addition for St. Paul Public Schools at Highland Park Middle School, located at 975 Snelling Ave. S. in St. Paul. Construction is expected to be completed at the end of August 2025.
KA continues to lead the field of regional education construction projects and is currently ranked 20th in the nation in the construction of K-12 facilities by Building Design and Construction magazine. Over the past five years, KA has completed over $1 billion in K-12 projects.
