Kraus-Anderson begins construction on Gresham Schools in Gresham, Wis.
May 31, 2019
GRESHAM, Wis. (May 2019) – The Madison office of Kraus-Anderson (KA) has begun construction on a $6.5 million renovation and addition to Gresham Schools, located at 501 Schabow Street, in Gresham, Wis. A groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 31 at the school.
In November of 2018, Gresham School District voters approved a bond referendum to improve and expand the school’s learning spaces. Designed by Eau Claire-based Ayres Associates, the 20,000-square-foot addition will feature a new Career and Technical Education (CTE) space, classrooms and music room; and will reconfigure existing spaces to improve function, efficiency and utilization.
Infrastructure improvements will include indoor air quality, heating, and lighting; and safety and security improvements will include building entrances and exits.
Construction is expected to be completed in December of 2020.
KA continues to lead the field of regional education construction projects and is currently ranked 6th in the nation in the construction of K-12 facilities by Building Design and Construction magazine. Over the past five years, KA has completed over $1 billion in K-12 projects. KA’s comprehensive school construction services include facility analysis and budget approaches, leading to informed and successful referendum initiatives.
Gresham Schools is one of dozens of major K-12 construction projects Kraus-Anderson will work on this year during its “Summer Slam,” a critical, concentrated time during the summer months when school is not in session and when crews can perform work that ranges from new school construction to upgrades to deferred maintenance projects.
