Kraus-Anderson begins new fire station in Burnsville

BURNSVILLE, Minn. (August 2020) –Kraus-Anderson (KA) has begun a new 44,000-square-foot fire station located at 14275 Newton Avenue in Burnsville, Minn.

The $18.6 million fire station will replace existing Fire Station No. 1, while addressing the City’s future fire and EMS needs.

Designed by CNH Architects, the new building features sustainable designs that can reduce the impact buildings have on the environment, reduce long term operating costs and create better working conditions.  According to CNH, the building will include design features aimed at reducing firefighters’ occupation-related cancer risks and safeguarding their cardiac and mental health.

The new building includes 10 apparatus bays, administrative space, living quarters and training areas and community spaces.

The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2021.
