Kraus-Anderson begins new fire station in Otsego, Minn.

June 24, 2025

Kraus-Anderson has begun construction of a new $18.4 million fire and emergency service station for the City of Otsego. The new facility marks a major milestone in the development of the City’s newly formed Fire & Emergency Services Department located at 14499 75th Street NE in Otsego, Minn.

The two-story, 35,000-square-foot project is designed by Wold Architects and Engineers. The new station is set to begin operations on January 1, 2027.

The south side of the facility is designed for emergency response operations and will house six large apparatus bays for fire engines, a dedicated gear decontamination area, a storm shelter, a hose/training tower, and a training mezzanine to support ongoing firefighter development. The north side of the building is dedicated to firefighter and staff well-being, accommodating around-the-clock personnel with bunk rooms, quiet rooms, laundry and gear storage, a full kitchen and dayroom, separate kitchenette, fitness center, conference rooms, offices and remote workspaces.

Site development will include new utility infrastructure, drive lanes, public and staff parking areas, snow melt aprons adjacent to the apparatus bays, sidewalks, stormwater management ponds, a screened trash enclosure, and carefully planned landscaping.
