Kraus-Anderson begins six construction projects for South Washington County Schools

WOODBURY, Minn. (June 2025) – Kraus-Anderson (KA) has begun construction on six projects for South Washington County Schools. The improvements were approved by voters in the fall of 2024.
East Ridge High School – 4200 Pioneer Drive, Woodbury
Designed by KOMA Architecture, Interior Design & and Engineering, the 87,145-square-foot project will feature a new addition to increase the capacity of the school to 2,300 students. Construction of additional Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) spaces will support future growth and curricular offerings. Special education and online learning will be redesigned, the kitchen and cafeteria will be expanded, and other existing spaces will be renovated at the two-story school. Storm shelters will also be added for student and staff safety. Outside, the plaza space will be redesigned at the athletics and activities entrance, and drive lanes and parking lots will be reconfigured to enhance traffic flow and safety for parent pickup and drop-off. The project is expected to be completed in August of 2026.
Oltman Middle School – 6625 Goodview Avenue South, Cottage Grove
Designed by Wold Architects and Engineers, the 43,674-square-foot project will add classrooms to accommodate approximately 1,300 students, create new STEM and special education spaces, and a kitchen. The addition will be organized into pods around a shared flexible area with natural daylight to encourage collaboration. The cafeteria will be expanded and designed to create versatile seating spaces and to provide options for various students’ sensory needs. Storm shelters will also be added for student and staff safety. The project is expected to be completed in August of 2026.
Park High School – 8040 80th Street South, Cottage Grove
Designed by KOMA Architecture, Interior Design & and Engineering, a 38,877-square-foot addition will include a new kitchen, cafeteria, storm shelter and CTE and STEM areas, and a new entry to the north side of the building. The project also includes a 40,771-square-foot interior remodel of the administration and student services offices, and science classrooms. The roadway will also be reconfigured to add parking and to enhance traffic flow and safety for parent pickup and drop-off. The storm shelter will be completed in August of 2026. The remainder of the project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2027.
Woodbury Middle School -1425 School Drive, Woodbury
Designed by Wold Architects and Engineers, the 28,303-square-foot project will include the renovation of the pool, main office and music spaces. The pool will be reconfigured into a new multi-purpose space, and outdoor storage spaces will be added. A new road also will be added to the east side of the building to ease traffic during pickup and drop off times. The road will connect with Upper Afton Rd on the North side of the school. The project is expected to be completed in fall of 2026.
Cottage Grove and Lake Middle School – 9775 Indian Blvd South, Cottage Grove
Designed by KOMA Architecture, Interior Design & and Engineering, the19,6623-square-foot project will include a new secure entry and office space and will remodel the existing offices to provide collaboration spaces. Exterior improvements will include a new entry to the new additions with parking improvements and new green spaces. The project is expected to be completed in August of 2026.
Woodbury High School – 2665 Woodlane Drive, Woodbury
Designed by Wold Architects and Engineers, the 75,000-square-foot project will add a new front entry that will double as a storm shelter. The new space will also include an updated cafeteria and kitchen. The existing science rooms, media center and classroom wings will be remodeled, and exterior improvements will include new parking lots, bus drop off and landscape upgrades. The project is expected to be completed in August of 2027.
