Kraus-Anderson (KA) has completed construction on a new $35 million elementary school for Le Sueur-Henderson Public Schools. In August of 2022, voters approved a $39.9 million referendum to fund the new school.

The new Le Sueur-Henderson Elementary School, located at 901 Ferry St. in Le Sueur, was built adjacent to the high school.

Designed by ATS&R Planners, Architects, and Engineers, the two-story, 113,090-square-foot school serving grades K-5 includes new classrooms, labs, a music room, Kid’s Club, a cafeteria, and administrative offices with a nurse’s area. The building also features a safe and secure entry, a 30,000-square-foot field house with a three-court gymnasium and locker rooms, and a 6,000-square-foot storm shelter. In addition, the site includes a new parking lot, bus drop-off, and two dedicated playground areas.

Construction began in May of 2023.

KA continues to lead the field of regional education construction projects and is currently ranked 20th in the nation in the construction of K-12 facilities by Building Design and Construction magazine. Over the past five years, KA has completed over $1 billion in K-12 projects. KA’s comprehensive school construction services include facility analysis and budget approaches, leading to informed and successful referendum initiatives.
