Kraus-Anderson has completed renovations of Soldiers Field Memorial Park located at 300 7th Street SW in Rochester, Minn.

Designed by Miller Dunwiddie Architecture, Ramaker, and HKGi, with significant input from the community, the City of Rochester’s $22 million investment project features the development of the 150-acre park, including the aquatics area, playground, shelter, and trails.

Renovations to the new aquatics area included a lazy river, three waterslides, and a 50-meter lap pool, as well as improvements to the bathhouse and a shallow pool and splash pad with play features.  The project also updated an inclusive playground and shelter at Roy Sutherland playground on the east side and added a new nature play area with shelter on the west side, two basketball courts and a multi-use Southwest Trail Connection, and renovations to the Soldier’s Field Golf Course.

The project was funded by Federal grants ($5 million), State grants ($250,000), Destination Medical Center Economic Development Agency ($10 million) and the local park referendum ($7 million).

Construction began in the summer of 2023.
