October 24, 2025

The Bemidji office of Kraus-Anderson (KA) has completed construction on a new Public Safety Center for the City of Virginia, located at 1004 2nd Avenue South, Virginia, Minn.  The facility will serve as the new home for the city’s fire, police, and emergency services.

The new Public Safety Center represents a major step forward in providing coordinated, efficient and high-quality emergency services for the community. The 50,000-square-foot facility brings police, fire, ambulance and Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) operations under one roof for the first time in city’s history.

Located in the heart of the Iron Range, Virginia is a resilient, growing community committed to excellence in public service. The new Public Safety Center is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to modernize infrastructure and enhance community safety.  Funding for the project was in part provided by a capital investment from the State of Minnesota, USDA Rural Development and the Department of Iron Range Resources.
