Kraus-Anderson Milwaukee completes Enerpac Tool Group’s new downtown HQ

The Milwaukee office of Kraus-Anderson Construction (KA) has completed the new corporate headquarters for Enerpac Tool Group located at 648 N. Plankinton Ave. in Milwaukee.

The company relocated its global headquarters from Menomonee Falls into the former ASQ Center indowntown Milwaukee. The building has been renamed Enerpac Center. Enerpac Tool Group is a global manufacturer of industrial tools employing more than 2,200 worldwide. Approximately 130 employees have relocated downtown to Enerpac Center.

The 47,734-square-foot build-out features an engineering lab for prototyping and testing, open collaborative spaces, multiple boardrooms, and offices with industrial-style glass walls. The layout also provides employees with an on-site fitness center, large work café and updated restrooms with showers.

“Our project team is proud of the proactive approach we took when working through the challenges of this project,” said Jordan Guth, Kraus-Anderson’s project manager. “The scope called for a full interior demolition and new build out in the 130-plus-year-old building, all while accommodating active tenants on adjacent floors.”

The project brought to life an industrial aesthetic design to reflect Enerpac’s work. “The use of patina metals, exposed ceilings and ductwork and other industrial finishes represents the company’s longstanding precision and quality in its field,” said Guth. “We’re grateful Enerpac trusted us with the build of its new downtown headquarters and couldn’t be happier to see them move into the space.”

This summer, the company will be adding an exterior deck that will extend over the Milwaukee River. The deck will be the first-of-its-kind on the river.
