School is now in session at Minot’s new $116 million high school

November 14, 2024

Kraus-Anderson has completed construction on a new $116 million high school located at 2000 21st Av. NW in Minot, N.D.  The school opened its doors to approximately 1,000 students and teachers in August. The two-year construction project began in August of 2022.

The existing building was previously owned by Cognizant and used as a call center until it was sold to the school district. The building was renovated into classrooms and offices, and an addition was constructed that is connected to it.

Designed by Ackerman-Estvold, the new 275,259-square-foot school features music and tech classrooms, gymnasiums, and a kitchen and cafeteria.  Outside, the school includes a turf field stadium with a track and grass practice fields.  The existing parking lots were also expanded to accommodate the new building and traffic flow required for the school’s operation.

Construction on a new pool and auditorium—both with mezzanines—is expected to be completed in December 2024.
