Exceeding state standards
The LEED Platinum, three-story, 125,000 s.f. state-of-the-art classroom facility is home to five academic departments, psychology labs, digital arts lab, radio and television studio space and dedicated space for the collegeís Neuroscience program. The hall provides numerous places for students to gather and interact outside of the classroom. The project exceeds State of Minnesota Sustainable Building 2030 targets and is modeled to save 44 percent more energy and 30 percent more water than typical code requires. Sustainable elements include extensive daylighting and a comprehensive solar panel system. Seventy-five percent of construction waste was recycled. This is one of more than 20 projects KA has completed on campus over more than 30 years.
