Gresham School District - Addition and Renovation

The Gresham School District Addition and Renovation project involved the construction of a 25,000 square foot addition and renovations to an existing K-12 school in Gresham, Wisconsin. New features include expanded learning spaces, including a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program space, classroom, and music room space; reconfigured spaces, improving function, efficiency, and space utilization; infrastructure improvements to indoor air quality, heating, and lighting infrastructure; safety and security upgrades, including building entrances/exits and added fire sprinklers. Prior to construction Kraus-Anderson was hired to worked with Gresham School District on a facility analysis, community engagement, and bond referendum campaign. Kraus-Anderson conducted multiple site tours of all buildings, reviewed district maintenance history, assisted the District staff and community members with the prioritization process, and made recommendations to the Facilities Committee and School Board. Based on demographics forecasts, enrollment projections, and technological advancements, educational trends such as personalized learning, and curricular trends, Kraus-Anderson and architect developed and presented options and alternatives including construction, remodel, and/or maintenance for the District’s facilities. In addition, we provided costs and benefits of a broad array to meet current and projected facility needs. On November 6, 2018, Gresham School District voters approved a $6.5 million, single question bond referendum to improve and expand learning spaces.
