North Dakota State Lab
The North Dakota State Laboratory is a 104,230 SF, 3-story facility for the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Environmental Quality. Designed to address increased testing volumes in public health surveillance and environmental quality, the lab replaces an outdated building on the State Capitol grounds near the State Museum. The facility supports both departments by enabling shared resources, maximizing the use of space, and accommodating sophisticated testing functions, including PFAS, heavy metals, and VOC contamination, as well as molecular, microbiology, newborn screening, and toxicology testing. Construction is scheduled to be completed Summer of 2026.
