University of Minnesota Amundson Hall Gore Annex

Minneapolis, MN

"The Amundson Hall, Chemical Engineering & Material Science (CEMS) Building Expansion & Infrastructure Upgrade consists of two project objectives which are defined by the proposed building expansion and an existing infrastructure upgrade. The building expansion is immediately north of the existing Amundson Hall, which is located along Washington Avenue on the University of Minnesota East Bank Campus, and south of the existing Keller Hall. The new addition, 4 stories above grade and 2 stories below grade, will house laboratories, office and collaborative work spaces for faculty, staff, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows along with new and upgraded laboratory space for the undergraduate teaching mission of the CEMS Department. The building expansion will add approximately 42,314 gross square feet (GSF) of new space research, office / administrative and collaboration spaces for the Material Science and Engineering (MSE) and Chemical Engineering (ChE) programs. The Infrastructure Upgrade project is a list of preferred replacements, upgrades and renovations of existing architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems that reflect a best cost value in immediate service based on the current Central Corridor Light Rail Transit work, which is located along the adjacent Washington Avenue, and the proposed building expansion."
