University of Minnesota Itasca Biological Station and Laboratories
The zero-energy footprint, interpretive facility provides year-round classrooms and tech-enabled laboratories; plus offices, computer labs, library and a flexible space auditorium. Project was built to exceed LEED Gold status, with sustainable amenities including 16-well geothermal heating and cooling system, efficiency plumbing, operable windows and skylights for cross ventilation. The facility generates electricity 365 days a year through photovoltaic solar panels.
