Kraus-Anderson completes $28 million renovation of Edina Community Center

EDINA, Minn. (October 2021) – Kraus-Anderson (KA) has completed for Edina Public Schools a $28 million renovation of the Edina Community Center located at 5701 Normandale Road in Edina, Minn.

The Edina Community Center serves multiple purposes for Edina Public Schools. The 3rd level houses district administration offices, board room, and community education classrooms and studios; the 2nd level is home to Normandale Elementary French Immersion School; the 1st level is home to Edina Early Learning Center, as well as the Welcome Center and Enrollment offices. The basement level houses varsity football locker rooms and marching band storage, located next to the football stadium south of the building.

Designed by Wold Architects and Engineers, the 3-story 317,795-square-foot project renovated classrooms and locker rooms, the main office and entry, and the district’s board room. The project included significant mechanical and electrical upgrades, building cooling and minor structural modifications.  A new mechanical penthouse also was added.
