Becca Bohlman with Core Values Award

Her nomination comes from the KACC Workforce Shortage Committee, whose nomination reads as follows:

“Becca Bohlman exemplifies how Teamwork helps Kraus-Anderson Build Enduring Relationships and Strong Communities through her involvement with regional workforce development efforts. Becca is an active member of the KACC Workforce Shortage Committee. This committee helps KA to solve the critical business issue of pipelining talent into the Construction professions and the trades. She is also part of the City of Duluth Workforce Development Office’s Construction Working Group. This is an initiative to build the construction workforce in the NE MN/Duluth region by reaching out to non-traditional population groups.

She has been a part of the Construction Working Group since its inception almost 2 years ago, and as is her style, when she gets involved, she ends up in a position of leadership. Pete Weidman, a retired construction executive who serves on the committee notes, “Becca’s work on the Construction Working Group has been exemplary of her leadership skills.  Always listening but ready to say, ‘I can get that done.’ She was a true force in accomplishing a complicated and difficult task.”

Becca also represents KA in putting on the Construct Tomorrow event, in collaboration with the local construction trade organizations.  Construct Tomorrow introduces the trades to hundreds of local and regional high school sophomores every year throughout Duluth and the entire region, showing them there are great jobs to be had that don’t all require a 4-year degree. Finally, Becca has been the key driver (along with Laurisa Titterud) to create a series of infographics for the trades that can be used to recruit new talent into our industry (sample attached). Because of Becca’s involvement and leadership in these efforts, KA is not only recognized as a regional leader in workforce development for the construction trades, and KA is also recognized as an active partner with the City’s initiatives, which can impact our current and future ability to win work.”
