Uline Distribution Facility

Hudson, WI

"Uline was begun in 1980 in the basement of the owners’ home. The first product offered was the H-101 carton sizer, which is still offered today. Uline has grown steadily since 1980 and continues to be a family owned and operated business. Today, with over 2,500 employees nationwide, Uline has distribution centers near Chicago, IL; Minneapolis, MN; Allentown, PA; Los Angeles, CA; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Seattle, WA; Tijuana, Mexico; Monterrey, Mexico and near Toronto, Ontario. The new Uline Distribution Warehouse, constructed by Kraus-Anderson, is located in Hudson, WI at Highway 35 and Hanley Road. The project was constructed on a 62.5 acre site. The 646,000 s.f. facility consists of 610,000 s.f. of warehousing with a 32’ clear height at the first column line and 36,000 s.f. of office space. The site development, including underground utilities, storm water ponds, erosion control, grading and landscaping was included in the scope of work. Exterior pavements include a concrete truck court area and bituminous parking areas. This building is a cross-dock warehouse with approximately 182 dock positions with parking for 200 additional trailers. Primary construction is IBC Type 2B, non-combustible, fully sprinklered, utilizing pre-cast concrete wall panels with steel structure and ballasted EPDM roofing over metal deck. Uline stores contents that are classified as Commodities I-IV per the NFPA 1 Fire Code, necessitating ESFR sprinkler coverage in the warehouse. The office space is two stories in height, with a pre-cast concrete plank 2nd floor supported on a structural steel frame, plus structural steel roof framing. One hydraulic elevator provides accessibility to 2nd floor with parking for 250 employees."
