Hockey Day Minnesota 2019
There’s a reason why Minnesota is known as “The State of Hockey.” Throughout our state, there are many different competitive hockey programs in high school, college, pro, amateur, you name it, it’s available here. To celebrate this, Fox Sports North, in conjunction with the Minnesota Wild and a city known for its hockey programs, hold Hockey Day Minnesota each year on the third Saturday of January. Throughout the day, they air outdoor high school hockey games held in the city, followed by college games in the late afternoon, culminating in a Wild game in primetime.

This year, Hockey Day Minnesota is in Bemidji, and Kraus-Anderson’s Bemidji office has a big part of it. “We have been trying to get selected to host HDM for nearly 6 years.” Said KA Bemidji Director of Business Development Tracy Pogue. “After we were selected, we could not be happier. KA is an Emerald level sponsor and will be providing heated locker rooms for all the players, coaches and officials for the whole week of Hockey Day.”
Highlights from 2018 Hockey Day Minnesota, St. Cloud, MN
Festivities will be held near Lake Bemidji, with three days of hockey games on a refrigerated rink. It is all-volunteer driven, and all the money they make will be used to enhance Bemidji’s outdoor hockey facilities.
“Hockey Day Minnesota – Bemidji (HDM) will be the biggest event ever, not only in Bemidji, but in Northwestern Minnesota.” adds Pogue. “The economic impact of our community is in the millions and will have a lingering effect for years to come.”

4:30pm High School Boys: Bemidji vs. Greenway at Lake Bemidji
7:30pm College Men: Bemidji State vs. Michigan Tech at Sanford Center
8:00pm NHL: Wild vs. Blue Jackets at the Xcel Energy Center
