Kraus-Anderson completes upscale 590 Park apartments in St. Paul
SAINT PAUL, Minn. (September 2020) – Kraus-Anderson has completed 590 Park Street, 92 units of upscale apartments uniquely designed for professionals in St. Paul. Located on the site of the former Capitol Professional Office Building, the apartments are near the State Capitol, Regions Hospital and the Green Line transit stop at Capitol/Rice St. Station, creating seamless connectivity to downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis.
“We have expressly created the space with the high-design efficiency of micro, studio and smaller units for the contemporary use of professionals,” said Matt Alexander, senior vice president of Kraus-Anderson Development. “The exceptional location in the historic Capitol Heights neighborhood of St. Paul also adds to 590 Park’s appeal, demonstrated by our notably strong pre-leasing traffic and activity.”
Owned by Engelsma Limited Partnership and designed by UrbanWorks Architecture, the six-story, $20 million apartment building offers smaller-sized micro, micro-medium, alcove and one-bedroom units. Amenities also include a lobby lounge and game room, outdoor patio with grilling stations, dog run, fitness center and a private club room and kitchen. Units will feature full-size washer and dryer, solid surface countertops, LVT flooring, stainless steel appliances and smart thermostats.
The adjacent existing parking ramp also was renovated to include one level of connected underground parking dedicated to apartment residents with an additional three levels of parking above ground for public and contract parking.
Adding to its growing real estate portfolio, the 57,982-square-foot project is being developed by Kraus-Anderson Development, which developed the extensive KA Block development in downtown Minneapolis, home to KA’s new 100,000-square-foot headquarters, HQ Apartments, The Elliot Park Hotel and Finnegans House.
The company also recently developed Chamberlain @ East Edge apartments in Richfield; Cambia Hills of East Bethel Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility; and The Larking, a phased mixed-use development, including a new 3,500-square-foot branch bank office for Wells Fargo, and a 16-story, 341-unit market rate apartment building located in the East Town district of Minneapolis. Other completed area projects include CityPlace and Tria Orthopaedic in Woodbury, Market Street Station in Chanhassen, Deephaven Woods in Deephaven and Trails of Orono in Orono.
