A Haven on Park and Washington: A Look at Award-Winning 240 Park Avenue Apartments
By Brenden Nickels, Senior Office Assistant
With the revitalization efforts of the Downtown East area, Kraus-Anderson busied itself in recent years with the construction of new apartment complexes, such as HQ, The Larking, and 240 Park Avenue.
Recently, 240 Park — a luxury apartment building on the northwestern corner of Park Avenue and Washington Avenue — received the Finance and Commerce Top Projects Award, as well as the People’s Choice Award.
“It was a great achievement for the whole project team to be showcased for their hard work and dedication to completing the project,” said Project Manager Chris Knutson. “I am proud of the project, excited for the client, and happy for the project team on a job well done.”
The building is comprised of 204 apartments, ranging from one bedroom to penthouses, with 254 parking spaces. Each apartment has a smart lock that you can use to control who has access to enter.
The building’s amenities on the 6th floor include an indoor pool and whirlpool, sauna, fitness center, and golf simulator. The 17th-floor features a clubroom/lounge and a rooftop patio equipped with grills, fire pits, and a bocce ball court. If you have a dog, cat, or other pet, you’ll be happy to know that 240 Park does have a pet spa and an exercise area for them.
At 240 Park, you can look out of the window and see views of U.S. Bank Stadium from the east, the Guthrie Theater and the Stone Arch Bridge from the north, and downtown Minneapolis from the west. These beautiful views are only a quick walk from the residence.
The apartment complex is a “transit-oriented development”, as it resides close to bus lines and the U.S. Bank Stadium light rail station. There are stores and restaurants nearby that one can easily walk to. For instance, Trader Joe’s is one block away if you need to get groceries. The parking garage has a place to charge electric cars and a place to store bicycles.
“240 Park Apartments helps define the Minneapolis skyline and represents downtown’s great developmental progress,” said Knutson.
