Becca Bohlman and Sarah Byers Win May 2022 Core Values Award. Becca is an Office Manager and Sarah Byers is a Project Coordinator out of the Duluth Office. They were nominated by Laurie Trousil, Director of Inclusion and Diversity at KA. The nomination reads:

“Becca Bohlman and Sarah Byers exemplify how Teamwork helps Kraus-Anderson Build Enduring Relationships and Strong Communities. Both have been instrumental in founding the new National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Chapter #392 in the Twin Ports / Iron Range region. Additionally, they have taken on leadership roles for the new chapter, with Bohlman serving as Vice-President and Byers serving as Treasurer.

Given the urgent need for talent in the construction professions and the trades, NAWIC-TP/IR’s purpose is to strengthen and amplify the success of women in the construction industry. With a mission to champion women as they impact the direction of the construction industry by providing education, community and advocacy for women; particularly serving women in Northeast Minnesota and on the Iron Range. To date, along with getting the chapter off the ground, Bohlman and Byers have been directly involved in community engagement, having delivered over $2000 in gifts in Q4 to Safe Haven Shelter and Resource Center, helping families experiencing violence and homelessness.

Due to Bohlman’s and Byers’s involvement and leadership in NAWIC-TP/IR, KA is not only recognized as a regional leader in workforce development for the construction trades, but is also seen as an active partner with and contributor to the City of Duluth’s Construction Workforce initiatives, which can impact our current and future ability to win work.”
